There
are many sensitive issues, which require courage for women to
confront such as domestic violence, rape, sexual abuse, incest
addiction, mental health and discrimination. By tackling issues,
which cause women stress, and creating help through mutual support
and action,North West Women's Centre will help to prevent breakdown
of women's mental and physical health. To overcome the effects
and fear of violence and through support, advice, referral, groupwork
and self-help assist women to deal with these issues.
All of the facilities the Women's Centre
provides are offered in a safe women-only space to create a non-threatening
atmosphere which provides women with the opportunity to build
up confidence, skills and self-esteem well as being able to raise
and discuss sensitive issues in a supportive environment with
childcare facilities. |
